I have to hand it to Obama. Bravo Mr. President!

Yah yah, I know ... I'm generally on DU whining about Obama not closing Gitmo, or being too cozy with Wall St. , etc. etc. but I must say, I am genuinely and deeply impressed at how POTUS has sprung back from the 2014 election AKA the Democratic Party's "drubbing" .. with ...
1) Net Neutrality BAM!
2) China/US emissions deal BAM!
3) Executive action to deal with over-due Immigration issues. BAM!

Absolutely LOVE seeing the ReThugs scrambling, realizing that within a mere week of the "electoral Democratic disaster" Obama totally captured the high ground and began controlling the narrative, while they were still standing around gloating and preening in the afterglow of Nov. 4th.

Well done President Obama.

They believed if he did immigration, etc. before the election, it would hurt them in the red states they were running in. In the end, they got hosed anyway.

And anyone who rec'd that dumb post about him being HAPPY about the midterm outcome is a hypocrite if they claim they've only wanted to "hold his feet to the fire". They can take the long walk off the short pier.

Before his nomination, he had been a top lobbyist for the wireless and cable industries. From 1979 to 1984, he served as president of the National Cable Television Association and before that he was CEO of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association.

Maybe he's just a mercenary, and loyal to whoever is cutting his paycheck, but still; apparently his background left him with at least one foot dragging on the net neutrality thing.

He may have made his preference clear, but Wheeler is still trying to come up with some kind of a "compromise" to make his industry buddies happy. We may still get fucked on it.

I'm not being negative, I'm just saying we shouldn't count it as a win just yet.

The other two I am extremely happy about.

between the fork and the mouth ... excellent point.

It's one thing to state his policy, and another to get the ball to the goalpost,

I think he should ask for Wheeler's resignation if he keeps dragging his feet.

Obama was just doing it because he knows he's going to be "impeached" anyway.

I did not invoke that thought-form, you did.
