I personally e-mailed Allan after the midterm elections and asked him where the 13 keys are right now in relations to the democratic party holding the WH. He e-mailed me back and said we are 5 keys down one more and we loose the WH in 2016.He said if we loose a 6th key anyone of the Republicans will win the Presidency even crazy Ted Cruz if he gets the nomination. The 5th key to fall was on election night loosing 13 Congressional House seats.http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/campaign/223274-democrats-have-no-one-to-blame-but-themselves

(6,960 posts)The lesson for Democrats is clear. You cannot win by turning tail and running away from your president. You cannot win by being like Republicans. You can only win by advancing the same progressive policies that have powered victories for Democrats from FDR to Obama.

(24,692 posts)away from the president of your own party. Attempts by candidates to distance themselves from Obama simply left them looking weak and empty, with no positive results. Running away from a sitting president did not help Republicans in 2006 or 2008. It did not help Democrats in 2010 or this year.
Exit polls show that more Americans view the GOP than the Democrats unfavorably. The few Democrats who won in tight races, such as Sen. Jean Shaheen in New Hampshire and Sen-elect. Gary Peters in Michigan, defended progressive policies on the economy, healthcare and climate change. Several groups devoted to combatting climate change targeted Shaheen and Peters for support, including NextGen Climate and Vote Climate U.S. PAC.
It is further worth noting that four solidly red states Alaska, Arkansas, Nebraska and South Dakota had minimum wage referenda on the ballot. The voters in all of these states by margins ranging from 53 percent to 68 percent voted to raise their state's minimum wage. Nationally, nearly 60 percent of poll respondents favored raising the minimum wage.

Nice find, bigdarryl.

(15,438 posts)And they clearly can't read for shit, because all their sophomoric questions are answered in his article had they bothered to READ. But I surmise those are GOP paid-plants to infest all comment sections. Those comments were too polished, too well-written to come from your average Teabagger. Anti-American, sell-out Neanderthals.
The Hill is clearly pro-GOP media (what isn't these days?) and they most likely keep Dr. Lichtman around to appear "fair and balanced". He does make some solid arguments in his piece and offers food for thought, though.
Thanks for posting, bigdarryl!
