One of our local stations has no camera operators for its local news casts. Sets redesigned with no desks. Talent standing. Cameras are all remote controlled from the editing booth. I assume other stations will follow suit if already haven't done so.

I don't know if CNN started it, but everyone does it now. It always looks to me like they're unprepared.
"We're gonna do a SHOW? Where's my CHAIR? Jeez, there's no furniture set up -- Oh, fuck it, just run some snazzy CGIs and hope they won't notice." And the sets keep getting bigger and bigger, emptier and emptier.
