Obama live news conference

Just watched it on MSNBC from Myanmar, Burma. It was very good.

He was very direct and answered all questions, about Burma and about here in the US. He doesn't sound keen on the XL Pipeline, says that his programs with our own oil are working and the Canadian oil going thru our country will not help gas prices here because the oil is not for us... And he believes the science about global warming...he is firm about executive action in immigration - and he sounds like he is not going to waver.

He was stupendous in this appearance. Didn't know it was coming on and was just turning off the tv. It came on in the middle of Lawrence's program.

Burma is a new democracy and he shared the stage with a woman, didn't get a chance to see her name or title (couldn't pronounce it anyway).

I was so proud of him representing us there.

He's a people person. Likes people, all kinds, good people..I can't believe that he'll sign that TP Agreement if it hurts us. It's not even written yet, just proposed, from what I understand....

Was going to turn off tv, but H Dean is on now...

and was very charming, intelligent, and somewhat humble but forthright.

I think Obama liked her, and it was mutual... they mostly talked about the elections there, but our reporters jumped on all the problems here in the US. She said she regretted that he could not, to paraphrase, escape these questions here, but he told her that the job of the press was to inform the public of what the government is doing, so he didn't mind. He is proud of the Chinese (pronounced "see", not sure of spelling) answering questions at his first news conference that was Obama's idea.

for many, many years. She's won many international awards- including the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Nobel is not the only honor she received.

I was impressed before I knew any of that. Her persona outshines her bio and it doesn't take long before you wish the world would recognize her, and by golly, they already did....

How did I miss all that?

Sadly, I had to leave the logos behind when I left my last job. But it's kind of weird thinking how one's work can reach around the globe. Somewhere in Myanmar/Burma, people are using my artwork to help promote freedom. It's kind of cool.

Have been listening to comments about the Burma new conference all day. It was on live about 2 or 3 am here, in the middle of a repeat of Lawrence...

I so enjoyed watching it I wanted to see it again. No luck, CSpan doesn't have it. But the White House has the transcript.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/11/14/remarks-president-obama-and-daw-aung-san-suu-kyi-burma-joint-press-confe

This is the president we thought we elected. And he's sick and tired of that idiotic congress - His theme song should be Randy's (radio) old program music, "We're Not Going to Take It Anymore."

If you have time, give it a look.

Self=edit: CNN did not have it on...MSNBC had it. Maybe they have the tape, no doubt from NBC...if anyone finds it let me know. I'd love watching it again.
