Brought To You Courtesy Of The RGA.....

a wonderful series of blatantly false political ads, straight from Chris Christie's Republican Governor's Association. Misleading political ads are nothing new and while there are examples of Democratic candidates using misleading ads as well, they are a core part of Christie's DNA and have become his calling card wherever he leaves his fingerprints-like the Republican Governor's Association that he chairs and runs with close political operatives (like Mercury Public Affairs). So there should be no surprise at the generous dose of lies the RGA fed the public this election cycle. He uses them because they work and he uses them because he has no morals. He will do and say anything to win-including intentionally making false statements. It's how he won his first election and he hasn't stopped since. So is it any surprise that the false ad was a staple of the RGA this political season?

I'll start with my personal favorite-Christie's Freeholder ad in his first election. This is important because it isn't a surrogate ad, this is him-lying straight to the camera with his wife and baby by his side. Think about what it takes (or what is missing) in a person that would allow them to do this:

So is it any wonder that out and out deceptive ads filled with lies and paid for by the RGA showed up on the air waves in Colorado:

In South Carolina:

In Michigan:

In New Hampshire:

In Maine:

and there were others-but you get the point (two is a trend-three is a movement). I don't mind tough political discourse or disagreement-even harsh criticism in political campaigns, but this is something completely different. This isn't even about the ads. I don't pay attention to political ads and I would wager that most people here on DU don't either. It's more about the character of the leader of the RGA and his close advisers who are running the show. They will say anything, do anything to win and gain power. Need evidence of that? Just take a look above. Know your enemy. Fore warned is fore armed.
