Of Course Someone Interrupted Muslim Prayers At National Cathedral

This is why we can't have nice things.

Of Course Someone Interrupted Muslim Prayers At National Cathedral

Sarah Anne Hughes in News on Nov 14, 2014 12:30 pm

In a "a dramatic moment in the world and in Muslim-Christian relations," the National Cathedral is currently hosting Jumu'ah, the Friday prayer said by Muslims. And because love, respect and understanding is too much of a concept for some people to understand, a person interrupted the service. Of course.

According to reports, a woman yelled "Jesus Christ is Lord!" before being removed from the Cathedral. A group of motorcyclists planned to protest "the Islamization of America" outside the D.C. house of worship.

but when Jefferson commissioned the thing, he deliberately said it was to be for the use of "any denomination whatsoever." Is that right?

If so, then what's the problem?

If other people don't like it, they can go down the block to the Stupid People Who Hate Everybody place. Good crimony.

It's an Episcopal church. Construction never started until 1907

From Wikipedia:

Construction started September 29, 1907, with a ceremonial address by President Theodore Roosevelt

On edit: I'm not surprised at the controversy, fundies like these tend to be notoriously thin skinned and they need something to whip them up in anticipation of the 2014 War on Christmas.

Sorry. Maybe I was confusing it with something else.

However, the Episcopalians are traditionally welcoming and very neighborly, and they can invite in whomever they want. It's their property, they own it.

Thank you for the correction.

Muslim prayers were ALWAYS included in any Presidential event or service. ALWAYS. Jewish, Native American and African prayers as well. Funny how no one had a problem with it then.

The cathedral is Episcopal, and also hosts same sex weddings, btw. HORRORS!
