Until we hear from the grand jury- Be Calm...

Last edited Fri Nov 21, 2014, 04:46 PM - Edit history (1)

This event has changed since last night's violence. Mike Brown's father called for it to stop.

We are still meeting at various venues across the country AFTER the decision is read.

I think everyone involved wants to see as much support as possible. Glad to have such a large, loyal base to call on here.

Because this is a national institutional problem that has continued even after Emmet Till was killed. One person mentioned that there is some irony there. She said she thinks that murder was the catalyst for the civil rights movement. There have been a lot of has changes. President Obama's presidency has revealed much of what hasn't, but the fact that he's there is significant to say the least.

What she was getting at is that the thing that has stayed with us is that catalyst, and it is one of the ugliest modern expressions of racism.

what to say, several phrases entered my mind but I am not sure if any of them apply: Stay safe. Let there be peace. God be with you all.

We all really appreciate people standing with us on the internet. The kind of attention these events have been getting lately is a direct result of the number of people across the country watching and caring.

I'll report back afterwards and hope others will do the same.
