I find it odd that this is the nit you would pick in the face of an unjust GJ decision that means that Mike Brown will not be afforded a Darren Wilson trial.

I lived with the DEFCON system of alerts and watched as DEFCON 3 came close to 2. The fear from top to bottom was palpable. It is not something you can ever forget.

It is a request to switch the boards to low-bandwidth mode, which cuts the images and uses less icons and other bandwidth-using element of the website so that it loads in a reasonable amount of time. And it has always worked rather well in times like this. Perhaps you haven't had occasion to witness DU being slammed enough to engage emergency bandwidth limiting measures.

I am sorry you had to live with the fear of actual defcon alerts.

Currently we are at defcon 1. Which seems to restrict advance search.

However, just before 9 ET, the place slowed down to a crawl or was unresponsive. Running smooth now.
