many of your posts tonight. This is one I can fully agree with... we need some damn change in the way cops are held accountable for their actions. And it should start with the good cops (if any even exist now) chiming in on this case, and every other case of excessive use of force.

I just base my conclusions on science and any lack of REAL evidence that God has EVER existed. I don't wrap my life around myths and fairy tales.

That being said, he needs to be punished while he is alive. Unfortunately, he first has to be convicted of the crime, which seems unlikely now. I would advise him, however, to watch his back, because there is a real risk that someone may take justice into their own hands.

I will take my chances. There are countless examples of people calling the cops for help with for example, a disturbed family member and ending up with them dead. Most of them have a short fuse, are completely unable to listen to your side of the story. All they do is bark orders and if you do not comply within a second they throw you on the ground or worse. Let's face it, good cops are a thing of the past. The past generation has seen militarization of the police and lowering of the standards to the point you have complete oafs walking the street.

You think he would feel safe in any place where people read papers or watch something other than Fox or who check things out on the internet? I don't think anyone will go gunning for him, but I do suspect he would be considered a liability in many places. And maybe you got it. Maybe he will just go on as before. Hard for me to imagine, but ... I accept it.

Wilson will never suffer a moment of regret or fear. From before his first shot was fired, he was convinced of the righteousness of his actions and subsequent events will not change the sick bastard's view. For him, the system worked just fine. If he had been a black cop who shot a white kid, the results would have been very different. The Grand Jury hearing was orchestrated by the Prosecuting Attorney who by all appearances, did NOT want an indictment.

"On August 21, State Senator Jamilah Nasheed presented a petition with 70,000 signatures calling for McCulloch's recusal, based on the close relationship between McCulloch and the police department, as well as accusations that he didn't file charges when he should have against two undercover officers who shot and killed two unarmed black men in 2000, and other controversies. (Wikipedia)

"Media reports characterized McCulloch as not impartial, as his father was a police officer killed in an incident with an African-American suspect, and his mother, brother, uncle, and cousin served with the St. Louis Police Department; Newsweek reported McCulloch's "long history of siding with the police." (Wikipedia)

It has been stated many times the general understanding is that a Grand Jury gives the prosecutor whatever outcome the prosecutor wants. If the prosecutor wants an indictment, s/he gets it. If they don't want one, they don't get one. It's pretty much the way the system is designed.

Less experienced members here though I was nuts to even suggest it as if the legal system is sacrosanct.

The motive in throwing a case like this is often to prevent the family from collecting a gazzillion bucks in the following civil liability suit.

Oh, and remember, in that case they didn't want to press charges either.

BTW: Remember when the FBI got involved here and the cops couldn't even produce a police report? When they finally did it was obviously filled out just to give the FBI something.

Tue Nov 25, 2014, 02:55 AM

is the APPEARANCE of bias on the part of the Prosecutor. In a perfect system (which we obviously don't have), he would have recused himself or been removed by the district attorney, or whoever is his superior. The failure to appear unbiased underlines the fact that no one at all can expect a fair chance. Anger and disruption out of frustration is the result.

I worked my entire career in the legal field -- corporate paralegal. Fortunately, my exposure to the court system was very limited.

Michael Brown would be sitting in jail for the rest of his life - and would not have been able to enjoy his freedom or just get married like Darren is now able to do.

If you murder someone for whatever reason, you are a murderer. Especially when you murder an unarmed person with 12 bullets.

Mike Brown was walking down the street minding his business (much like Trayvon Martin) when Wilson set his sights on him. Wilson aggressively pursued him initially for the major crime of walking in the street. He then tried to pull him in the car where he shot him twice. MB escaped and Wilson, who was sooooo in fear for his life, left the vehicle and further pursued Brown on foot! He ultimately fired his gun over 10 times.

Spare me your tripe.Wislon murdered this kid in broad daylight and then he and his fellow racist cops allowed that kid's body to lie in the street, in the hot summer sun and initially uncovered, for over 4 hours. It was a clear message that it's hunting season, that Black males are the target and that cops are untouchable.

America was founded on genocide and slavery, and has a lethal history against brown, black and yellow people. There will be hell to pay one day for all the Michael Browns, Trayvon Martins, Emmett Tills, Amadou Diallos, Medger Evers, MLKs, countless native Americans, countless Vietnamese, countless Iraqis, and poor people of Central/South Americans (Chile- CIA installed Pinochet, Iran -Contra)

And so, if Brown had managed to get Wilson's gun (in self defense), Wilson would have deserved whatever he got. He started a senseless fight... just as most bullying cowards. May he rot in hell.
