Timing of the announcement

Not completely sure that it would have made a difference but obviously (I think) the GJ reached a decision during the weekend.

Why not announce the decision to not indict earlier like 9AM?

Many would-be looters/trouble-makers are still in bed or at home and you have a full day of sunlight ahead.

Timing was not opportune. Allowed everyone to gather and then wait, wait, wait.

Not saying that this would not have still happened but maybe a slower ignition, no pun intended.

If they could get the people of Ferguson to riot, it just "proves" that they are 'troublemakers who deserve whatever they get".

To me, the whole thing looks like a setup.

Because that is an incredibly insensitive remark.

Did you even consider the implications of what you wrote ?
Its right out of the rw memes for black people.

They do not work so they are in bed at 9am,
They probably hang out all night up to no good..

What are you exactly trying to get at ?,

I'm mostly arguing about the daylight. Why wait all day till the sun goes down?

There will always be a few idiots who cause trouble...but this notion that black people only come out at night to loot is despicable.

I'm not saying that an early morning announcement would have been a panacea, but to say that such announcement is coming "soon" all day, let people gather, and then give the disappointing news after sunset is interesting timing.

but all we heard all day was that the announcement was coming "soon." Obviously "soon" did not mean imminent as that teaser ran all day.
