4. I can't speak to the thread starter's reasoning but I will say that Cosby uses his title

to talk down to people about things like POV and behavior and speaking proper English, etc. He put himself out there as an authority figure, all the while behaving as a sexual predator. I would suspect that the "scare" quotes are a way of denigrating him because for someone with a PhD, he sure didn't behave very well himself while he was scolding others about their conduct.
