I so hope some good will come from Michael Brown's death

but thinking back over the years from the riots in the cities back in the '60s to the Rodney King reaction, it seems almost nothing has changed for the better. Actually, it seems that retribution is passed out over time.

These thoughts went through my head when I heard some St. Louis official say "we need to allow change to happen" or some crap like that. Yep - just wait - things will get fixed. Meanwhile, suffer some more.

I hope some good happens too. In fact every day I think tomorrow will be better. I am very often wrong. But, I still think tomorrow will be better. I feel like Charlie Brown at this point. That St. Louis official is completely wrong BTW we don't need to allow change to happen, we have to make it happen. We have to move beyond getting out the vote and into pushing politicians to do the right thing. We need to put our own policies on the ballots to allow people to vote on them directly.
