I've been begging for years for some kind of movement to just eliminate the domestic and make the international the "New" CNN

Oh, and CNN late night "British edition" absolutely sucks in how they've covered the Ferguson story, just completely oblivious and cheerful and with the white lady and black british anchor routinely and obliviously citing "outside agitators" for all the problems going on, with no understanding of the history of that term or of that part of the country (which they describe as "Missouri, in the central part of the US, where, we understand, tensions have been..."
Again, they have to cater to a white British audience, who are afraid of immigrants as not only dark-skinned but potential terrorists there.

(7,633 posts)I agree with your analysis but i will say this :
When times come decent human beings do the right thing over the politically safe one. The way nixon acted shows he has no integrity. State senators in wisconsin fought back against walker and lost in recalls. Some dems in colorado backed weapon laws and list their elections. They chose integrity over politically safe. I wish nixon had seen thus as a defining moment and made a stand. In the grand scheme of things losing a reelection over a principled stand is better than acting like a spineless weasel.
