Obamacare success for right wing relative

My 61 year old SIL from Orlando came for Thanksgiving. She is a very right wing Tea Party type and we avoid talking about politics.
However, she commented that she needed to get better health insurance next year. She has been insured under her deceased husband's coverage for 3 years, but had to buy new coverage last year. Then she told us that the coverage she did buy last year didn't include her prescriptions, which cost her $ 700 per month. She has fibromyalgia, arthritis etc.
Then the stunner; she had knee surgery and discovered that her health insurance only paid $ 4,000 of the total bill! She didn't seem to know anything about her current plan. She's paying off the bill using credit cards.

I said "I know you hate Obama and all, but let's just check and see what an Obamacare quote might be. Just for comparison purposes." She isn't eligible for a subsidy, but the cheapest Silver Plan for her was about $7,500 per year. So that's cheaper than she is paying just for prescriptions. We checked that her favorite doctor was covered. Took us about 5 minutes. Printed her the summary and she went back to Orlando on Saturday.

Got an email on Monday. She has purchased a Bronze plan with Florida Blue. She didn't say whether she went directly to the ACA website, or contacted Florida Blue or how she did it.

The sad thing is that I suspect she'll still hate Obama, think he's a socialist, and complain about government takeover of our health insurance.

And she probably would have kept paying so much if it was not for you.
