Ya know, Id like to win something every now and then. The Republicans have been so relentless in their efforts to take this country back 150 years, I sometimes cant even breath.
Perhaps if the Democrats vote for this omnibus spending bill, it would be nice for them to come out and tell us where weve won. What compromise have the Republicans given? Where did we get some of our priorities addressed?
Can someone please tell me?
See, thats the problem. The American people want someone to fight for them. Im tired of the Republicans getting 95% of what they want, and then bitching non-stop about the 5% they didnt get?
Please Dem leaders, tell me what we gain by passing this spending bill? Can you cheer the victory that we get to keep the Bureau of Land Management Office in Fargo, ND open in exchange for increasing individual campaign contributions from individuals ten-fold?
Lets rejoice that the Janitor at the Washington DC Navy Yard doesnt get furloughed in exchange for giving away millions of acres of public land for private development.
Lets celebrate that at least a small portion of the ACA will be funded in exchange for removing bank regulations and gutting Dodd-Frank?
See, thats what pisses people off. Im all for compromise in government and politics
its the only way that the process works, but in order for there to be compromise, it has to come from BOTH sides.
Someone please tell me what the Republicans are compromising? Seems to me the only compromise they are being asked to make is to provide funding for lawful government programs and policies that are already written into law. In other words, the only compromise they are being asked to make is that they do their fucking job.
Patton once said that Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser.
Someone tell me, other than requiring the Republicans to "compromise" and pay our just and lawful bills, where is our victory.
Fuck this omnibus bill. Stand the fuck up and make Republicans do their job. Maybe then people will actually see that Democrats are standing strong, and maybe that strength will show up at the polls in 2016.

(15,355 posts)and I understand that to govern requires compromise, unless you want to live under tyranny.
But, my idea of compromise is not removing a sledgehammer from the hand Republicans use to beat us over the head, and replacing it with a ball-peen hammer.
You still get the shit beat out of you.

(32,895 posts)Compromise is necessary, that being said it doesn't mean the other side gets everything while you get nothing time after time.

Our victories (imho) will happen when we leave the usa, renounce our citizenship, and donate to those efforts to overthrow and/or destroy the current political and social-economic structures which currently run this system.

How could any American making between $15K-160K a year support allowing individuals to give up to $343,000.00 to a political campaign???
Who the fuck is marching in the street for that provision?
My guess is, it's either the poor "moke" who make $17 an hour, and thinks about how wonderful it will be when he finally gets rich and can contribute $343K to a political party, OR, it's folks just want "their side" to win!
Screw America...The Tea-baggers won! Let's all march back 150 years.
