http://www.latimes.com/science/sciencenow/la-sci-sn-punk-rock-joe-strummer-snail-20141216-story.htmlScientists have named a spiky shelled, deep-sea snail after Joe Strummer, the late lead vocalist and guitarist from the famed British punk band the Clash.
The researchers say the name highlights the "hardcore" nature of the snail, now known as Alviniconcha strummeri, which lives in one of the hottest, most acidic environments on the planet -- right up against hydrothermal vents in the Indian and western Pacific oceans.

... living in Turkey, where Joe was born.
I still wonder if I might have bumped in to Strummer there at times when I lived there and he was there and not too far from the British school there too. Eventually we went back to boarding school in London though before he helped start the Clash then.
Love the Clash's music always! Joe left us too soon!

I have a plaque in his name, thanking me for donating a tree. It's for a foundation his wife set up at his request, to get a tree planted. He loved the environment.
What's my name.
