New York, NY A video uploaded to Facebook on Monday shows NYPD officers detaining two 12 year old children, and an out of control officer running up from behind and repeatedly punching one of the handcuffed boys. If someone without a badge did this, they would be justifiably arrested for child abuse. This officer will more than likely not even receive a slap on the wrist.

(3,732 posts)All the political bigwigs from the area were there to listen to the suggestions and solutions of the people. Unfortunately, they only let about 20 people actually talk: then the bigwigs insisted on talking, and filled the remaining time with the usual vague campaign promises. On the up side, the fact they called the Town Hall was a sign they thought they had to make a SHOW of listening to the people.
I'm pissed off right now because some kids from San Francisco came, cut in the line, and took some some chances to speak from the locals who were there. I'm a disabled person who had been standing in line for an hour, and the line cut off when I got to the mic.

(18,670 posts)And I do hope backlash materializes. Cops should face the same scrutiny as a civilian for the same actions; money should not buy legal indulgence.
We have a ways to go

(505 posts)I'm not going to call a couple of twelve year olds once they have been brutalized by the police and turned into career criminals; so I guess all I got left is a mad dog for a pet.
