put Stone Soup on the front comics page. Doonesbury being too political, of course . . .

That hotbed of liberalism!

I love her, and love her toons. Saw her at a women in comedy workshop in Eugene a few years ago. She is awesome! Glad to know so many papers carry her strips.

Are there really people who don't know who Karl Rove is? My family and the only people I talk to from the US (and most from outside) would know who he is.

I fear that the vast majority in this country are unaware of basic political facts.

Usually she's a little more subtle with the message, but the strip has had plenty of political moments before.

People did vote to send billions to the middle east. It was the 2002 election, and I remember distinctly Bushco making it a referendum on their "War on Terror". It was clear that if the repubs won we would be going to war in Iraq. And they did it again in 2004.

And...people voted against health care in 2010. It was the big issue then. So yes, people are voting for more war and less care. They may be completely under the control of the propaganda machines, but that's what they are voting for. They'll even say so and be proud of it.
