Rachel Maddow or Keith Olbermann?
I like Rachel, but I don't think that she quite has the "go for the jugular" that KO had. I also feel that she is held back a little bit by NBC higher ups.
I really, really miss the KO and his countdown format. Also, the "worst person" segment was not to be missed.

(5,018 posts)having said that, I loved it when he went for the bad guys in a way nobody else did or does to this day
I love Rachel, she is the smartest and best person on television, period.

(53,339 posts)...Rachel couldn't think of a term for the place on ships where prisoners are held, so she called it 'boat jail.' She then heard from a lot of viewers pointing out that it's called the brig, and the next night she did a humorous report on her gaffe.

(10,893 posts)I thought his show was less dry, and he took far less time to make his points, plus I loved the "Worst Persons..." segments. Rachel's show is good, but I think she's a little overrated in comparison to some of MSNBC's other hosts. I miss KO doing political shows on Current TV, and it feels weird seeing him do sports on ESPN now--especially with those funny-looking suits he has been wearing lately.

(16,184 posts)Rachel's segments, especially for the A block, are incredibly intellectual, well-researched, and informative, and a lot of times, address an aspect of an issue that other shows don't.
I can't choose between the two.

KO was good but Rachel is the best (IMO).

(2,682 posts)Olbermann was certainly more direct and went for the jugular more often which made him very entertaining.
However, every time I watch Rachel, I come away with a better understanding of events because she explains context and background, not often found in other news programs.
So, if they were on TV in the same time slot (different stations) which would I watch? Rachel, because I get more from her.
