related:

President Obama, in his statement released on Thursday, said that on this "day, and all days, we must do more than remember. We must resolve that 'never again' is more than an empty slogan."

"As individuals, we must guard against indifference in our hearts and recognize ourselves in our fellow human beings," the American president said, adding that, as "societies, we must stand against ignorance and anti-Semitism, including those who try to deny the Holocaust. As nations, we must do everything we can to prevent and end atrocities in our time."

Obama began his statement by saying: "We honor the memory of six million innocent men, women and children who were sent to their deaths simply because of their Jewish faith. We stand in awe of those who fought back, in the ghettos and in the camps, against overwhelming odds."

More Than Just Remembering - by Madeleine Albright and William Cohen -- April 23
U.S. President Barack Obama's planned announcement Monday morning at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum of a new interagency Atrocities Prevention Board (APB) addresses a structural deficit our government has faced for decades across different presidential administrations: What options do we have beyond doing nothing and short of intervening militarily to prevent, deter, and end bloodshed against innocent civilians?

President Obama announced on Monday he will award a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom to Jan Karski, the former Polish officer who escaped Nazi imprisonment and provided first-hand accounts to the Western Allies of atrocities he witnessed in Warsaw.

...image hosting site like www.tinypic.com or something. I'm only bringing this up because this is the second time I've noticed you've unintentionally done it in an OP.

If you don't understand what I'm talking about, right-clicking on 7 of 8 of those images will show they're between 300-700k a piece and that their resolution is bigger than most desktop backgrounds.

It's really easy to re-host images you want to use and most pic hosting places will re-size images for you. I do it all the time and it's considerate.

If you need more help ask in H&M.

If you're going to keep doing it, a DIAL-UP WARNING is appropriate.

In fact many more died. In Russia there was systematic genocide of all Jewish villages, and The Roma Gypsies as well as political prisoners, the mentally handicapped and homosexuals. The extermination camps were built specifically to kill Jews as part of the Reich's Final Solution.
