What polls/news sites do campaign staffs read?

I love the ins-and-outs of campaigns and I want to understand what is going behind the scenes. I know campaign staffs must watch some polls and read specific media sources so they know where to concentrate their efforts and what to say. However, we all have our favorite spots on the net and I dont know if the places I like to go for news and polls are necessarily places that the big dogs go to.

There are probably a lot of people on DU who have experience working in high-profile campaigns. What news sources do they look at and what polls do they watch? I want read the same stuff the campaigns are reading to put debates, appearances and speeches in context.

Thanks and have a great day.

I think they put most stock into their own internal polls. WI_DEM Apr 2012 #1

My first site as a general go-to is Daily Kos Elections (formerly Swing State Project) and then next is any state-specific political websites (I live in NJ so in NJ's case it's www.politickernj.com and www.bluejersey.com) and then the local newspapers of the district/state/area.

Keep in mind that most campaigns have a communications department who is solely responsible for things like speechwriting, debate prep, media, etc and then they're approved by the candidate and campaign manager. I've only worked in field and we have nothing to do with the media.
