NH Poll: Obama By 9, Romney Seen Unfavorably
A new poll of New Hampshire shows President Obama with a nine point lead in the state, as his overall approval rating and rating on the economy has recovered in the state. Obama gets 51 percent of likely voters in the poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire (UNH) for Manchester, NH television station WMUR, while like GOP nominee and former Romney sees 42 percent support.
Obamas approval rating is at a positive 50 - 47 split after spending most of 2011 underwater in UNHs polling, and his approval on the economy stands at 47 percent against 50 percent disapproval, again better than it was in 2011. Romneys personal favorability is at 36 percent among likely voters in the state, against 51 percent unfavorable.
The Republican nomination process has weakened Romney in his backyard, said Andrew Smith, Director of the UNH Survey Center in a release. He will have to consolidate support in New Hampshire and other battleground states if he hopes to defeat Obama in November.

(27,448 posts)3. Seems like last week Obama was behind in NH
The polls are nuts and I would just as soon try not to pay too much attention to them. The media likes a horse race so they will seriously hawk the ones that show Romney ahead.
