Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, said Wednesday the Obama administration is not taking the terrorist threat seriously following an attack in Paris that killed 12.

"Terrorists, and specifically radical Muslim extremists, are at war with the West and the U.S.," he said in a statement.

Inhofe said the attack proves the U.S. is facing an increasingly dangerous world, where terrorism groups are becoming more sophisticated.
However, he said, "The terrorists see the U.S. retreating from the world and they see a president unwilling to be a world leader."

Inhofe accused President Obama of treating militant attacks like "isolated police incidents."
