German Groups Say Paris Attack Shows Islamist Threat

By Erik Kirschbaum

(Reuters) - Anti-immigrant groups in Germany seized on Wednesday's deadly attack in Paris, with leaders of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and PEGIDA saying it showed the threat of Islamist violence.

"This bloodbath proves wrong those who laughed or ignored the fears of so many people about a looming danger of Islamism," said Alexander Gauland, a regional AfD leader. "This gives new clout to PEGIDA demands."

PEGIDA, or Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West, itself reacted strongly to the Paris attack.

"The Islamists, against whom PEGIDA has been warning over the last 12 weeks, showed in France today that they are not capable of (practicing) democracy but instead see violence and death as the solution," PEGIDA wrote on its Facebook page.

"Our political leaders want us to believe the opposite is true," the group added.

"Does a tragedy like this first have to happen in Germany?"

Islam is undeniably a serious threat to the quality of life of those living in Muslim-majority countries.

It is not, however, a serious threat to the West - crimes like today's thankfully remain rare.

Remember the DC snipers and the effect they had.

Already American life has changed forever, from Islamic terror.

I completely agree that, if it becomes a more serious problem, murder by muslims may become a serious problem for Westerners...

Islam inspired attacks and disrupted bombings and attacks of the years since, being an international movement, all of this ties together and that is the threat that dominates so much of modern America, and the rest of the world's nations.

Internationally, law enforcement and the militaries know what they are discussing when they discuss and share information on international terrorism.

IN THEIR GOVERNMENTS & POLICE.

SO many DU'ers paint the USA in one light and completely ignore what is the reality in Europe and paint this false sugar-coated picture of politics/society over there.
