DA: Albuquerque Police Officers Charged with Murder in Shooting of Homeless Man

Last edited Mon Jan 12, 2015, 03:34 PM - Edit history (2)

Bernalillo County District Attorney Kari Brandenburg has confirmed to the NM Political Report that she will charge two Albuquerque police officers with murder for the shooting of a homeless camper in the city’s foothills in March of 2014.

By the way, this would not have occurred without massive citywide protests. This was a big deal in Albuquerque.

cop murderers. I'm not saying all cops are murderers but some definitely are and they need to be weeded out early. After working with someone a few weeks, month maybe I can tell you a lot about them by just listening to what they talk about and how they talk about it. Surely the the cops has someone in their ranks who can do the same. Bad people put off bad vibes and like I said I can feel those and I know I'm not unique in that

They have a tough job but as Bill Maher points out they signed up for it. A kid with a BB gun gets killed and they say "It was by the book so we were justified". Time for a new book! As with any job they are going to vent to one another about how stressful their job is and that just about any use of deadly force is justified. They re-enforce this among themselves and then start to think anything is okay. In this instance it was even worse than being trigger happy, I think they were looking for a chance to shoot. One of these cops yelled "Boo Yah!" after he murdered Boyd. Then the cops released the video of the James Boyd killing and were so out of touch they thought it vindicated them. The public saw the video and were like WTF????? So yes, the law needs to hold cops accountable to stop them from thinking they can get away with anything and claim self defense.

I obey the law and I think they should too. Especially cops. Cops should be the law not breaking it themselves.

Boyd was reasonably peaceful until that happened and was likely to surrender.

Cops, in almost all cases, are allowed to murder with impunity. These days I'd be reluctant to call the cops if my house was being burgled, afraid they'd shoot the wrong person.

This needs to happen everywhere where there's cops murdering innocent people. And next on the agenda, prosecute cops that kill dogs for no other reason than because they were in the way and not bothering anyone.

It takes a cold-blooded psychopath to kill innocent people and dogs.
