Apparently, GOP operatives are now trying to take down Valarie Jarrett.

They are attempting to take down Jarrett the same way they took down Van Jones, and have been attempting to take down Eric Holder and Susan Rice for the last seven years. And for the same reasons, hoping to achieve the same effect. It's a simple, four step process.

1. If you target, (and thus highlight) a brilliant, highly qualified, and politically adroit advisor to Obama who happens to be black, you can fire up the racist xenophobes in the GOP base about another 'uppity negro' who has the audacity to try and run things. (As if having an uppity negro as President isn't bad enough, he's obviously trying to create a CABAL of angry negroes who are going to take away all our stuff as 'reparation' for slavery!)

2. By firing up that part of the base it will create enough traction in the anti-(insert name here) campaign to bring it into the mainstream media. (The story moves from the Drudge Report to Fox News, and from Fox News to Meet The Press, and so on...) This will make the target person nervous enough to resign, rather than take the Obama Administration down with them.

3. Obama will now have lost a valuable advisor, and a rising star in the Democratic Party will have been snuffed out before they can become any more famous.

4. Finally, in the ultimate twist of irony, the same people who pushed Obama to fire this person will CRITICIZE him for being weak enough to actually yield to the pressure.



Well, I've got a suggestion: From now on, whenever they try to pull this shit, how about we respond by actually HIGHLIGHTING the person they're trying to assassinate, rather than hiding them.

Good grief, have you SEEN Jarrett's qualifications!? This woman would make an excellent Senator or Governor of Chicago, and that should be her next stop!
