$15 Hr Ramp Work Too Expensive For Frontier. Most Customer Svc Outsourced.

The mantra is that management says it can't compete unless jobs are outsourced and employee pay cut. Newcomers on ramp duty make $10 an hour. If $15.00 and hour is too expensive or extreme then the "raise the minimum wage movement" will be crushed by business and industry.

Ironically jobs at United and Frontier that will be outsourced effect union jobs that will be scrapped. Outsourcing and contracting is the new way to end unions and trash federal laws. Under this scheme workers have NO protections and government will have to make up the slack for low wages.

The article in the Denver Post today about Frontier airlines implies that corporate America believes it must cut wages further to compete. And if you think about it we are seeing what competing with the global economy (wage scale) means.

Sarcasm. Costco does very well and treats its employees very well. It trickles down to how they treat their customers.

$15 seems reasonable, I know that stressed me out when I did it.

ramps making $10/hr. Better still, let them pick up some trash on my neighborhood route at $16.00/hr. If they couldn't push paper and defraud people out of their retirement and savings, and find ways to gouge the consumer they wouldn't be able to earn a living.

There was a comedian on one of the talk shows one time (it might have been Bill Maher, not sure) who said that shitty airlines like Frontier and Spirit exist to make you glad that you didn't buy a ticket on one of those airlines.

Then they started merging with other airlines... They still have the most comfortable planes for a budget airline but that's about it. They started charging for everything from carry-ons to soda. This year they also raised the amount of miles you need to get premium status. And all that gets you is a seat upfront, free luggage and to go through the short line at the airport.
If I did not have status with them I would switch airlines, but really what other options are there. I have had no luck with Delta, Southwest or United and I don't want to spend a year building up status on another airline, it would cost me a lot of money in baggage fees..

Well, corporate America wants more money, then corporate America can get a second job.

That's the way it's done in the heartland...
