HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Dozens of unvaccinated students have been banned from an Orange County high school after being exposed to measles by an infected classmate.

The 24 students cannot return to Huntington Beach High School until January 29, according to district officials.

“There’s been some kids absent from my class,” Jordian McCutch said.

The infected student was on campus from January 6 to 8.

I wonder how many of them didn't get vaccinated due to specific health conditions vs due to their parents' ideological beliefs.

10% of students between El Cerrito and Alameda are unvaxed. Stupid granola snowflake parents.

I can't believe the anti-vaxxers have gotten their way for so long. Sure, it's their right to not get their kids vaccinated. But if they elect to not get them vaccinated, then they should not be allowed to mingle with the general population.

Even when I got to college we had to show proof of our vaccination record. If we were not vaccinated, we were not allowed to register for classes. It made sense and protected everyone.

I grew up with kids that had suffered from polio, a kid in our neighborhood had birth defects because his mother had been exposed to rubella. There was no choice then - vaccines were not available. The people who whine about the effects of vaccines should educate themselves about the effects of the diseases the vaccines prevent.
