My Facebook republican is at it again...losing his mind over Dem pandering to

"groups" such as women (on free birth control) and Mexicans. I asked him "what makes you think YOU aren't in as much of a "group" as they are? And that the GOP isn't shamelessly pandering to YOU.

He doubled down on "women and Mexicans" and I responded "Again? What is it with you and "women and Mexicans"? He's an old, white guy in the Midwest but that's no excuse: my husband is old, white and from the midwest and he's firmly and unswervingly in Hillary's camp. He voted for her in our CT prez primary in 2008 (I did too, but only cuz my candidate John Edwards had ignominiously dropped out and also I wanted to vote for a woman to be President in my lifetime).

Facebook guy's big problem is that Obama gave women free birth control (like that's bad) and didn't deport Hispanic children. I almost lost it on both issues. I went on such a rant! Told him women's birth control was none of his goddamned business and NOT to get me started! And what was with people who are harvesting the food he eats? AGH!

And no, I cannot unfriend him. He's on our WI neighbor's threads...neighbor is a BIG liberal Dem and he kinda goads the guy. But this guy is getting to be a real sorehead...usually, he's not racist and sexist...I dunno what happened...

I must say I smacked him recently with the "You mad, bro?" poster of Obama sucking soda with a straw....that was a pretty fine experience, if I do say so myself!

"Because Viagra."

If you want your meds fully paid for to keep it up, and you're planning to use it, shouldn't women have a right to protect themselves while you're enjoying yourself?

Most of them are too obtuse to see the correlation, though.

and even Viagra isn't helping. So he takes out his frustration on "those" poor women who are out having sex and he isn't...I remember a male friend of ours saying that's what can sometimes happen to a guy...

it would also be another example of purely self-interested thinking on his part. It seems that so few care about the greater good or about allowing people to make their own choices without "moral" judgments from those who don't know them. I miss the 70s and 80s; live and let live.

I would love to see Elizabeth Warren run but it looks more and more like it's Hillary all the way, altho things can and do often change at this stage of the political game...

But my husband is a good liberal. He just likes Hillary and also he wants to see a woman president. I'm sure he wouldn't have any problem with Warren...
