outcome" don't ever call for all inheritances to be redistributed through the state (perhaps exempting real assets, if we're feeling nice) and everyone gets an $80K bond on turning 18 to do with as they please

or even just a guaranteed minimum income--nobody makes less than $20-35K a year depending on state

it's almost like their rhetoric is empty sloganeering!

I have a feeling he would like Sasha and Malia to eventually benefit from this.

automatic natural event, it is because they go out and built that sort of wealth. Additionally, Obama's children like all children of wealth benefit from it greatly right now, and many people of extreme wealth do not wish to leave their children with extreme wealth even if they want to leave them well off and rich as shit.

It's not a big deal to me that a President makes big bucks after they retire. Clinton, for example, has become very wealthy, but he also spends a great deal of time and effort advancing very worthy causes.

They would say the poor still wouldn't be working for it. But they should at least be for putting it aside in some fund that the jobless/poor can collect from for doing some work.

That would involve some inefficient gubmint contribution. Right wingers should admit they don't care about working for it. They are merely protecting their own middle class privilege and being cruel to the poor, who they don't know and don't care about, by insisting the poor could be rich if they would just work. That's the fantasy land they pretend exists.

The idea that ALL of my property, as meager as it may be, becomes the property of the STATE after my death is outrageous. While I favor inheritance taxes, there are elements of my estate I want passed to my daughter when my wife and I die. We have a house. It should be hers, to sell or keep as she will. I have a number of family heirlooms (some of some value) that I want to stay in the family. Many of them are worth more in terms of sentimental value than monetary value. I would like to ensure she will have enough to really reach for her dreams. I am not a rich man by any means, but I CERTAINLY hope to pass on to her more than $80K!
