New Square Orthodox Jewish community is one example - there is a lot more to this story. Home schooling, vouchers and privatization of our public schools are a big problems facing public education. Again we see the right wing joining up with the Religious Talaban to destroy public education. I am very familiar with this area as I have family living nearby. Yes they pay property taxes but the majority of folks rent - by design -from a few large landlords. Most residents are on section 9 and get Medicare or Medicaid and all kinds of support from NYS. Check out the statistics from the link below and you will see how large families are and how low incomes are at New Square. This will entitle them to the programs mentioned. Sounds like I am anti-Semitic? No, just giving facts. This story has legs and can be discussed because it is documented thru local media.
