"How's the Affordable Care Act working out for you?

That was the question that Dallas Business Journal Publisher Tracy Merzi put to panelists at a recent manufacturing summit in Dallas.

"Actually, it's a little bit better than we thought it would be, strangely enough," said Mike Winemiller, president and CEO of Briggs International, a Dallas-based industrial equipment dealer.

"We have a bunch of Republicans sitting on the board," he added. "We were all pessimistic … but I think overall it's a very viable option in the marketplace"

Now push for single payer and save yourselves a lot of money. People will have better access to care and you won't have to pay for it. You know you're contributing to insurance profits too, right Republicans? How about we sever healthcare from employment like the rest of the civilized world? What's that? You'd rather hold it over your employees heads' so you can treat them as subhuman machines? Oh yeah, I forgot. There's got to be something evil in it for a Republican to like it.

Well the White House had some closed door summit on how to reform payments to doctors, and Forbes is just crowing about it today:

From the looks of Google News, mainly business journals were called to the press conference. That's not a good sign.

Another DU thread linked to a socialist web site invoking incentives to, literally, throw seniors under bus. Hopefully the incentives to cut costs aren't quite that tempting.

But anyway - released on Superbowl Sunday. I'm just sayin'...

If you want to live like a Republican, vote for a DEMOCRAT.

You'd think that after the bitter recessions under Reagan, Bush Sr. and Bush Lite, and the better state of things under Clinton and Obama, that more Republicans would have figured that out by now.

After years of immersion in deep water, some Republicans have finally noticed, "hey, this stuff is wet!"

Briggs would be better off getting rid the Republicans on their board and finding some far sighted Dems.

The Dallas Business Journal is no doubt part of the vast liberal network in the Dallas, Texas
business community.

DUers will throw single payer under the bus as being a big giveaway to employers and health care providers.

The doctors, clinics, and other health providers increased exponentially after America passed Medicare.
