She said she wanted to watch the game.

It sickens and saddens me that this most vulgar display of bloodsport is so important to a nation of people whose futures have been mortgaged to the point their next meal is in doubt.

I've already closed all the blinds, now I'm getting ready to trip the main circuit breaker and turn ALL the power off so there is no possibility of my being exposed to this travesty of income inequality wrapped around a pagan fertility ritual whose main symbol is shaped strikingly like the egg from which we all came.

Once the power is off and my home goes dark, I'm going to hide my head under my pillow so as to be prepared for the off chance that a neighbor might be enticed to exclaim some kind of misguided joy during the "game".

Filth.

2 - I refuse to put myself in a situation where I might have to drive by a business window where the game is being shown, or hear, wafting on the breeze, a single word spoken by Al Michaels or Chris Collinsworth.

Nnnnnnope. I prefer to crawl into bed and put my head under the pillow.

Excuse me, I've got to go trip the circuit breaker now.

And for the record, I've been a fan since I knew what professional sports was... through thick and thin, good and bad, Fox ownership, Eric Davis, Milton Bradley (I was there the night he melted down) and all the rest.

No fair weather fan here.

You can definitely say that every team has gone through crap involving the owners. My team was owned by Disney, and then sold it to a guy who changed the name to most ridiculous team name in sports.

He's done a lot of good for the team but he's also overpaid a lot of players and signed a couple of incredibly overrated players to some completely absurd contracts (*COUGH* Josh Hamilton *COUGH*). So either people love him or hate him, there really isn't an in between.

and also it's one of those wildly popular things that I am indifferent to, or actively dislike, such as Justin Bieber, the Twilight movies, and other dumb trends that pop up now and then.

I understand that many American's are fascinated by it, and the tribal stuff really gets people going, rooting for their team, but to me, it is a total waste of time.

not some American, corporate sponsored bastardization of "the beautiful game".

Personally... I have zero interest in either, but given a choice, I'd have to rank soccer right up there
(excitement wise), with professional belt sander racing...

I thought it was baseball. It's not. It's that other weird game where they pack on so much padding they can't do much but run short distances slowly and stand around and sometimes throw a ball around. Not that I'm a sports fan but give me real football any day...

Why couldn't it have been a lame game with a halftime act I did not care about seeing? LOLOL!
