Wyoming House approves bill allowing guns in schools.

Legislation that would allow people with concealed-gun permits to carry firearms into public schools and government meetings won easy approval from the Wyoming House of Representatives on Monday after a debate over rising gun violence in U.S. schools.

The bill, supported by leaders of the Republican-led House, would repeal “gun-free zones” carved out around elementary and secondary schools, as well as colleges and universities.

Passed on a 42-17 vote, the measure also would grant concealed-carry permit holders the right to take their guns into meetings of the state Legislature and local government meetings.

The bill must clear the Republican-controlled state Senate before it can be submitted to Governor Matt Mead, also a Republican, for his signature or veto. Mead has in recent years sought to welcome firearms-related companies to Wyoming by promoting it as a gun-friendly state.

Wyoming would not be the first state to enact such a law. Utah allows individuals with concealed-carry licenses to bring their weapons onto school property, and Texas allows teachers with such permits to do so if they have permission from the school district superintendent.

and the republicans will claim it as an indication of how guns in school prevent violence
rather than an indication of the Wyoming monoculture not lending itself to internal violence

Texas is the one to watch, imho.

The minimum age for a CCW permit in Wyoming is 21. Your concern is unfounded.

For hunting or target practice after school. Those who had cars left them there, those who didn't stored them in their lockers. Guess what? No one shot one another or no one else.

Just people trying to take away other people's rights based on imaginary threats. Some people detest and hate when someone else somewhere is enjoying themselves or having fun. They want everyone to have the same miserable life they have.

and many of us hunted before and after school. We kept our guns in our cars, trucks or lockers too. No one ever thought of using them to shoot up the school or just another person, if we had a problem with someone we would just meet after school and fight it out with our fists. You either gave an ass kicking or took an ass kicking and that was the end of it. This was in a very rural, small town in Tennessee in the late 70's - early 80's.

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (AP) — An Iowa man angry about his property taxes was fatally shot during a public meeting Tuesday after he pulled a gun from a briefcase and pointed it at the county assessor, law enforcement officials said.

Francis Glaser, a former Maquoketa city manager, had become agitated and vocal about his property taxes going up during a weekly meeting of Jackson County's board of supervisors in Maquoketa, a town about 150 miles northeast of Des Moines.

One of the county's three supervisors, Larry Koos, was nearby and stepped in. He struggled with Glaser, and a second shot was fired. Glaser was hit and died at the scene...

you would have noticed this part, for instance, from the first sentence:

Legislation that would allow people with concealed-gun permits to carry firearms into public schools and government meetings won easy approval

And this part, from the link:

the right to take their guns into meetings of the state Legislature and local government meetings

Guns in schools and government meetings will make it much easier to create more Sandy Hooks (school), Columbines (school), Maquoketas (government meeting), and a long list of other cases of murder and mayhem in public spaces.
