Why Scott Walker Isn’t a Slam Dunk for Grassroots Conservatives

....That Des Moines Register poll may offer a little insight: Walker was the No. 2 choice for those looking for an establishment nominee and for those looking for an anti-establishment one. ....

Immigration is the first potential problem area. In a 2013 interview with the Daily Herald Media editorial board of Wisconsin (which Daniel Strauss wrote up for the Hill here), Walker said he was comfortable with immigration reform that would provide a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. ....

The Blaze, a news site that’s part of Glenn Beck’s media empire and that has substantial sway among grassroots conservatives, ran a December headline that blared “Scott Walker Is Dialing Back His Common Core Opposition.” ....

What is often not talked about was that he had bonehead, Keystone Cops opponents each time.

Tom Barnett and Martha Burke were nincompoop candidates who had no business being on a ballot.

Hillary will be a little tougher than they were.

just shows that it is not about information and knowledge but perception.

If I ruled the Democratic world - I would be tasking some ad people to start
working on some sentimental-pull-at-people's heartstrings advertising about
how unions will go away completely if he is elected.

His positions are hit or miss with specific GOP factions, and that will be a problem--no doubt. His ethics, however, I think will bite him on the ass. There have been little news tidbits along the way mentioning "investigations" but he's never had to stand up under the kind of digging that comes at the Presidential level--especially if it is Hil he's up against. The Clintons are extremely good at research...

If he's smart he'll stay home.
