Someone is telling me that the NFL pays taxes (FB)

I wandered out from my grief curtain and post a pic on FB about the NFL being tax exempt.

One of my FAVORITE cousins (we're more like sisters) posted this (and I am shocked):

(start)
This is more propaganda. Figure out how much they recoup in tolls and other local and state revenues when 60 thousand plus come rolling into town 10 Sunday's a year. All revenue that would never be if the stadiums are not there. There are more deserving fish to fry in this dept. The taxes for the NFL are complex to me. I know the franchises and players pay taxes. I'd be curious to see the REAL NUMBERS on this when its all said and done. The NFL as a whole is not a tax exempt entity. That's a farce.
(end)

I am going to hide under the covers now.

The NFL as an organization is a non profit that doesn't pay taxes. The teams, however, are businesses that indeed pay taxes. Same with the stadiums, same with the players.

What pisses me off is that I know anything about this at all. I hate football.

Those cities are ready to give tax breaks. I don't get the attraction, but lots of people love the game.

a fixed low, entry nearly impossible, supply & large demand from cities. Blaming the voters, they are the ones that have to foot massive bill. It would work if all cities said no, because relocation is real & St. Louis is prepping to be a public example, strengthening the bargaining power & it is nuts. Ridiculous to force New Jersey to pay for 2 football. It is a bad deal for taxpayers & pro leagues don't need to do this, they can to maximize their profits. Unethical behavior if you ask me, why threaten to municipalities to accept deals that will take 50-70 years to recoup.
