It doesn't affect them because of herd immunity due to vaccinations. Take that away and these pics could soon be updated with technology and colorized.

Hyper-allergic to poison oak, and I've had my arms and legs bandaged for weeks at a time, dripping pus from half-inch blisters. I don't even want to think about what smallpox must have been like.
