there's no end to their hatred: House Votes To Repeal Affordable Care Act For 56th Time.

The House voted 239-186 today to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the latest effort by the Republican-controlled chamber to scrap the law.

The measure also would direct panels to come up with a replacement for the healthcare law — though it doesn't provide a timeline on any new legislation or what provisions it may contain.

The House-approved measure likely will be defeated in the Senate, where the GOP has a smaller majority. President Obama has threatened to veto any legislation that rips up his signature achievement.

The Associated Press notes the House has voted more than 50 times in the past two years to repeal the law. What was different about today's vote? NPR's S.V. Date writes in our It's All Politics blog: "What makes today a milestone is that, for the first time, House Republicans plan to vote on whether to actually take health coverage away from millions of Americans who now have it."

You would think they'd realize that they aren't going to get a repeal while Obama is president and not waste their time. It's not going to build up goodwill among the conservative nut jobs because they can't get an actual repeal, it's not going to help build up goodwill among independents because it's ineffectual and shows partisan gridlock, and as the article noted, now that more of the ACA has been implemented, they are actively trying to take away health insurance rather than theoretically trying to take it away.

As Rachel Maddow used to point out, John Boehner is really just bad at his job.

Psychiatry was not Einstein's field and he was not given to bsing about sciences that were not his speciality.. Also, if Einstein were nonetheless to purport to give THE definition of insanity, I would expect him to use a clinical definition. This quotation does not appear in any of his writings, nor is there any reliable sourcing of this definition to him in speeches or conversation.

What you have quoted is one definition of insanity, and a rather pop pysch or colloquial definition, at that, not THE definition.

However, http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/a/alberteins133991.html or http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/26032.html. I'm not realy stupid. There are lots of quotes floating around that have been accepted into the collective unconscious. This is one of them. And using the supposed quote isn't really disinformation. Whether it was Einstein, Ben Franklin, an old Chinese proverb, or narconon, the original point remains.

Yes, attributing some colloquial saying that purports to be THE definition of insanity to Einstein when he never wrote it and apparently never is indeed disinformation. Why is that difficult to get?

It's incorrectly attributed to Einstein to make it seem smarter than it is.

A lot of bullshit is in the collective consciousness. That doesn't mean it should be repeated on DU.

However, Senate Democrats, though in a minority, can block via the 60 vote cloture rule, even if all Republican Senators vote with the House. So, there will be no adverse consequences to Republicans of this vote--unless enough Democrats join them. And I would not be surprised if they already know exactly how Senates Dems will vote on this.

Either way, Republicans stand to lost nothing by the vote because, no matter what happens, if anything, they will be able to blame Senate Democrats.

both the house and senate, so yeah they are clowns.

So for the past almost 6 years and some of that time the Dems had both the Senate and the House, there was not a single bill to have a public option.

If they are not clowns then they are incompetent boobs at best.

When they stand before a camera and say, "Absolutely, all American children should be vaccinated" then turn around and vote to repeal medical access to millions of low income people. This is the reason why we SHOULD have healthcare, A Public Health Issue.

if they really want to win this battle. Let's say they win in the House and Senate, override a veto and the thing gets repealed. What then? They have just thrown millions of people off insurance. I can't believe they think that would play well at the polls except with the hardcore "get Obama" crowd, and I don't think that gang will win you too many national elections.
