but the manner in which the story was reported, I'm just wondering why it took them this long to tell us that the story back in 2003 was based on bogus reporting. Somebody among the elites want Brian out of the way, or it could be that this is a way of getting him to succumbed from peer pressure being applied by a very nefarious group that may have interest in running for the presidency.

do that for risk of never having a shot at William's or any other mass media 7 figure broadcast contracts.

The mass media has a huge conflict of interest problem if it is the one doing any of the "investigating".

to benefit oneself is fascinating. There must be some
sort of pathology involved. Especially these days
with the likelihood of being found out. Plagiarism, also.
There must be a thrill at the risk. Unless
they somehow come to believe the lie themself.

Bingo!

And it ain't just Brian Williams. Nor just journalists plagiarizing.

Politicians do it too, like Hillary Clinton's imaginary exposure to sniper fire in Bosnia.

Even Navy Seals are guilty of it, like American Sniper Chris Kyle's bullshit claims of shooting dozens of Americans from the roof of the Superdome during Katrina.

I have a relative who has told a story like this for twenty years. I've seen the story evolve, grow and become more fantastic as the years go by to the point where even his own kids joke about it. Nobody believes it anymore but I think he actually does.

"thrill at the risk"

Amounts to pressure from editors and producers who wants journalists come up with stories regardless.
