Fire ALL The MSM Liars!

http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/btw/watch.html

Thanks to the media's repeated claims that Iraq and Saddam Hussein were immediate threats to our nation, in the weeks leading up to the invasion, nearly three-quarters of Americans believed the lie promoted by Donald Rumsfeld that Saddam Hussein was somehow involved in the attacks of 9/11.

President Bush : "Iraq is part of a war on terror. It's a country that trains terrorists, it's a country that can arm terrorists. Saddam Hussein and his weapons are a direct threat to this country."

Was that believable or did the media play along? The next shot is of a press conference at which Bush announces that he has a script telling him which reporters to call on in what order. Yet the reporters play along, raising their hands after each comment, pretending that they might be called on despite the script.

Video shows Richard Perle claiming that Saddam Hussein worked with al Qaeda and that Iraqis would greet American occupiers as liberators. Here are the Weekly Standard, the Wall Street Journal, William Safire at the New York Times, Charles Krauthammer and Jim Hoagland at the Washington Post all demanding an overthrow of Iraq's government. George Will is seen saying that Hussein "has anthrax, he loves biological weapons, he has terrorist training camps, including 747s to practice on."

............

The Washington Post editorialized in favor of the war 27 times, and published in 2002 about 1,000 articles and columns on the war. But the Post gave a huge anti-war march hardly any notice, and Senator Kennedy's opposition to the war 36 words. (Of course, the most outspoken opponents of the war in Congress, such as Dennis Kucinich, were ignored.) "What got even less ink," Moyers says, "was the release of the National Intelligence Estimate." Even the misleading partial version that the media received failed to fool a careful eye.

...........

The media failed us leading up to the Iraq War, and its cost hundreds of thousands of human beings their lives and the United States has lost both trillions of dollars and our standing in the world as a moral force.

It's time for our media to offer us – and the people of Iraq – an apology.

(I want O'Reilly & Hannity's head, Oh & Judy Miller Too)

And make sure this sort of thing never happens again.

Like it's getting ready to with Iran...

Who was it that read the list of approved topics and talking points that the bush administration put out? Some anchor read it on the news and refused to follow it.

That there has to be a complete turnover of the media.

When I see Peggy Noonan... George Will....Pat Buchanon. ..on my TVs on Sunday morning I want to vomit.

I think it is actually a possibility because if Willams gets fired, Faux is screwed. Then the dominos start to fall.

Old media is no match for modern social media.

Even if they fired all of the obvious Mockingbirds, they'd just replace them with obsequious and obedient newbies.

how people want to pin the blame on a pair of moving lips on a tv screen?
for that to even happen, let alone endlessly, disheartens.

on the other hand- any opportunity to stick it to the mechanism.

We are conditioned to see individuals and ignore systems, institutions, and broad agendas and it creates reactionary and simplistic blind spots that are substantial.

I'd still like to know who is behind this singling out of Williams,
from all the other M$M liars, and why they are pushing for
his resignation so hard.

At least I knew, in the case of Dan Rather, that it was the Bush Crime Family
who wanted his head, for obvious reasons (he dared expose the Shrub's
abysmal military record. In this case, it's much less clear.

Williams is going to be the scapegoat, deservedly so, to cover for a lot of media sins and get the restless masses back in line to trust them again unconditionally.

Remember The Dixie Chicks - dissent will be punished.

The thread was about Brian Williams.

What this thread reminds me is that Tom Brokaw was in the NBC anchor's chair during the run up to the Iraq war. Today, Tom Brokaw wants Brian Williams fired. I don't think Tom Brokaw has a right to say what should be done with Brian Williams.

Dan Rather is more charitable toward Brian Williams. Rather was pushed out of CBS news for doing a story about the Frat Boy's service in the Air National Guard. The story is true, and everybody knows it, but somebody planted a false document that discredited the 60 Minutes segment in an attempt to discredit the entire story.

While Mr. Rather deserves kudos for attempting to tell the truth about the Frat Boy, he is still the same person who told David Letterman that he would follow the Frat Boy's orders concerning Iraq: "Just tell me where to stand and I am with you."

Yes, they are liars propagandizing us into bloody war for profit. And they are liars by omission, as well.

Still waiting for stories about Obama and Hillary's bipartisan-approved TPP, a mammoth, vicious, predatory, corporate coup of democracy:
