I, like many people, find noisy neighbors unbearable.

Edit: I've lived in an apartment before and noisy neighbors were a big problem, but from reading below, it sounds like your noise was a minor event and your neighbor is the problem. I'd suggest you should call the cops, but I'm not in your shoes.

Many neighbors are too loud, and deliberately so – mostly loud music or sometimes loud vehicles.

The OP's neighbor does seem to be the complete villain in this case. The noise might have been minor.

I've also recently had neighbors that harassed me (they're gone now), so I can sympathize with anyone with neighbor problems. I get completely stressed out.

A few weeks ago I saw a woman who was not attractive by society's standards. Yet, she was beautiful to me. Her inner beauty showed with her smile and her gentle manner, making her much more attractive than she probably was.

Then you have someone like Sarah Palin, who many consider a beauty by society's standard. When I see her talk, you can see the venom on her face with her twisted smile and vacant eyes. It makes her ugly.

I would much rather be friend's with lady #1.

A broken bed can be fixed, hate can not. When I was just starting out on my own the frame on my bed broke and I could not afford a new one. I just threw the frame out and placed the mattresses on the floor.

you never know.

I've read the op before. She is French so her English may not be good. But she has had well thought out, sensitive threads before. So I choose to believe her.

Her English may not be perfect, but it's a helluva lot better than my French!

doesn't justify threats, of course, but if the person is not able to sleep because of noise over his/her head, that can really mess up their life and attitude.

Can you put your mattress directly on the floor for now, to keep the noise down? Also, keep slippers by your entrance and when you come in, switch immediately from shoes to slippers so your footsteps will be quiet.

86. I don't think fleeing is the answer. Maybe find another place to live and them move?

I'm not sure how helpful DU can be on this.

That said, I do wish you luck and a speedy resolution.

hopefully they are all talk, no action.

I would call police if they threaten you again, though.

'Cause when love is gone, there's always justice.
And when justice is gone, there's always force.
And when force is gone, there's always Mom.
