After Moore hit Eastwood for getting Vietnam and Iraq confused in his storytelling and having his characters call Iraqis savages throughout the film and Maher said it was nothing but the story of a psychopath patriot, a reporter from TMZ asked the director for his reaction.
Theyre right, he said succinctly, before closing the door to his car and driving away.
Previously, Eastwood defended American Snipers message by saying the biggest antiwar statement any film can make is to show the fact of what [war] does to the family and the people who have to go back into civilian life like Chris Kyle did.

(5,082 posts)Its time for a full frontal attack on FOX News...they are below vermin and scum and have way too big an influence on average Americans. I bet they aren't reporting this story even though their hero said it. Why? Because they are just a tool of the corporate war state. They also didn't care when an American ISIS hostage died because she was a liberal. These type of fake patriots deserve to have enforced lobotomies.

Vietnam and Iraq confused in his storytelling indeed!

It's a riff on "All Politics Is Local."
Eastwood has rehabilitated himself somewhat with his remarks.

(28,552 posts).... and probably what he actually said IMHO.
We'll never know unless he elaborates in the future.

(3,629 posts)I would imagine Eastwood expressing that idea more along the lines of "they can say what they want." "They're right" is a sentence. I find it hard to hear Eastwood saying "their right" without at least a "that's" in front of it.

(6,699 posts)I wouldn't bother giving him a "thank you" if he saved my life. What a dumb ass. After his performance of senility at the gop national convention last time around, I have totally given this butt hole the big FU for life. I wouldn't bother watching his movies if I believed one cent was going into the pocket of this embarrassment to the movie industry. FU clint, you douchebag! Make my day, and simply vanish from this earth.

(2,331 posts)But batshit crazy yes. I tried to watch a documentary about Tony Bennett but he was in it. I turned it off immediately. Couldnt bear to see even a minute of Eastwood.

(39,961 posts)has a pretty unique outlook on life. One of the things he's said is this:
"Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left."
He may not sit well with a lot of people, but he has his own ideas.
