Were the constituencies the Democratic party represents better off when we had Blue Dogs and super majorities or majorities in Congress, the governor's mansions, and the majorities of state legislatures?

instead of a Republican who votes 0%.

A blue dog in Oklahoma would be a blessing.

Example: former Representative Dan Boren ( blue dog)

Dan Boren is a Moderate Populist Conservative

Now the same district is represented by a plumber

Markwayne Mullin is a Hard-Core Conservative

Like my bowling instructor said, Blue Dogs are like blue balls -- you think you might be getting somewhere, but in the end you're just left holding the bag.

I guess that means stick with the traditional black balls? My bowling instructor was very Zen-like in such matters.

If you want a Democrat, vote for a Democrat. If you are a Democrat, vote like a Democrat.

And if you elect a Democrat and he/she votes like a Republican, you just elected a Republican.

If it walks and talks and quacks...

as in the past tense is the clue.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, the political winds have changed, just as they did in the 90's when the "Blue Dog Democrats" came into existence. Now more liberal Democrats and Republicans are beating the "Blue Dogs".

Time to step out of the box and figure out how we can really elect more Democrats....silly polls won't help.

who call themselves Democrats.

No Gov Option for Health Care - Thanks to the above mentioned groups
DADT - Thanks to the above mentioned groups
Banksters not in jail - Thanks to the above mentioned groups
Bush/Cheney not in jail - Thanks to the above mentioned groups
Current War on Women - Thanks to the above mentioned groups

Blue Dogs, Conservatives, Moderates and all other non liberal non progressive Democrats are the problem with the party, always has been.

Blue Dogs, Conservatives, Moderates need to go back to the GOP or some other party because they are not one little bit worthy of being a Democrat. They bring nothing but disgrace and shame to the party and I will NEVER ever consider them a Democrat, DINO at best and useless at that.

I had a Blue Dog representing me (Bobby Bright), and the only Democratic vote he ever made was in support of Nancy Pelosi for Speaker, so he could get on a committee - he justified and apologized 2 years later in general election debate. Of course, that was the one vote Martha Roby (R) needed to win the election.

With that Blue Dog voting record, how could a Democrat support this in-your-face opportunist DINO? He voted NO on each and every Obama proposal when we had the so-called Democratic majority, just like all the other Blue Dogs. Not one bone, and I begged him!

Lesson learned.

Won't get fooled again.

R. It seems that is what the posters here want. Some states just plain do not have anything but blue dogs for election.

I also believe folks have a habit of labeling other folks they don't like with negative labels.

I agree that at some point if a Democrat consistently votes with the Republicans he becomes worthless but at what point is that? 20%, 40%, 50%, 70%?

But watch the Blue Dog DINO like a hawk, and see if you can get something.

So next time you'll know if you are voting for an R.

will vote with the left roughly 60-70% of the time at worst, compared to the (close to) 0% we get from the GOP nowadays. It's a shame, but the overall politics of the constituencies of certain states don't mirror those of DU, so that means that more moderate D's have a higher shot of winning than those who are more pure.

Don't get fooled.

The representative voting with your party on a post office is not the same as voting for Lily Ledbetter, Matthew Shepard, Affordable Care Act, or any other legislation from our party. Blue Dogs voted against all these.

That 30%-40% can make all the difference!

Don't vote for a Republican, no matter which party is funding his/her election.
