She stopped on the way to work to get doughnuts for her office. I talked to her over the phone as she walked out the bakery door.
A few moments later the phone rang. It was Marta. She was on the interstate. Her 09 Equinox had a problem. She was headed to the dealer. It was one of those engine light came on things. Later we learned it was a bad sensor.
So I drove to the dealership to pick her up. No big deal.
She left her company ID in the car back at the dealership. While signing in at the security desk at work she apparently dropped her drivers license. She thought somebody would call to say they found it. Not yet.
Other than going to our long time favorite restaurant since it is near her office, it was a bad day.
Several things were wrong with her SUV as we let little things pile up. Other than the $50 deductible on the extended warranty, it will be ready when the parts come in. I get to drive & pick her up tomorrow.
Perhaps dinner out Saturday night for Valentine's Day will make her feel better.

(13,623 posts)said, I'll just call it. No answer. We had done a blood drive there the day before and by the time I realized it was missing, I was out of town on another drive. I called the phone a few more times, getting worried that someone that didn't work there may have grabbed it, still no answer.
As soon as I got back I went to the dealership to ask if anyone had found the phone. Yup. A girl had it right there at the front desk. I told her I'd tried calling it several times and she gave me this weird look and said, "I wasn't going to answer that." As if she was freaked out that someone she didn't know was calling, like it was her phone and one of those "unavailable" numbers. WTF difference could that make? I was really pissed off at her but didn't dare say anything. I suppose it was my fault but c'mon! She had me freaked out for a whole day that I'd lost a company phone and she's just letting it ring right there at her desk!. Sheesh! What if that was one of their customers that was close to buying a new car?

(99,741 posts)She was telling me not to buy her flowers this year for her office. I pointed out the 14th is a Saturday, so no flowers. Last year we sent each other flowers to our offices.

(99,741 posts)Our daughter picked her up at the office because I have such a nasty cold. I hope Marta doesn't get it. She got her car back on the way home.

Hope things are looking up for you and Marta and are on an upward swing.
