On too many issues that are near and dear to a select few DUers, he has failed to bring about Utopia.

Therefore, he does not deserve the chance to do better in a second term. We'd be better off with Romney as President.

Just made a small donation to the email I received from the campaign.
It gives you a chance to come to the White House for a Party and bring a Guest. They send airfare etc.

I made a small donation ~ my father would make a bet on the sun rising.

His motto was , " If you don't bet, you can win."

Wish me luck or better yet, BET. : )

The global primary is this coming week and we are pushing for a large turn-out, as a show of support. Democrats abroad voters have been the determining factor in several of the last two senate races. We have a strong group here in Thailand. They vote progressive and represent many swing states. Two polling stations here in Chiang Mai on two different days.

When it comes to time and money, Obama's problem is that he's not competing against Romney. He's competing against Democrats who are much closer to what I'm looking for.

Of course, GOTV work and such for other Dems will have a spinoff effect of benefiting Obama. I don't begrudge him that. I just wish he hadn't done so much to kill the hopes that sent me going door-to-door for him in 2008.

a while back I was told by the POTUS to "Shut up and Eat my Peas" yet now he wants my vote.

Yeah I will hold the nose and vote for the lessor of 2 crap candidates for POTUS but my time and money are being spent on electing Traditional liberal and progressive DEMOCRATS, you know the ones that still hold true to the party values of helping working people, keeping a strong social safety net and protecting women's rights.
The things that the party and it's leadership does not seem all that into any more.

I'll vote for him over Romney, but does the message infer something more? If so, no. I'm busy trying to put food on the table and pay the mortgage.

with absolutely no information about a plan for policies that will help the 99 percent.

It's becoming a pattern. I have not seen one positive argument here yet, other than that he will be better than the other guy.

Why do you think that is?

That's what seems to happen when people try to engage substantively in these flag-waving support threads. You would think that an avid "Vote for Obama" thread would be brimming with good news about what this candidate plans and will bring. Instead, we get patriotic drapery and vapidity, and nastiness toward anyone who seeks an actual plan to support the rhetoric.

Flags and bunting and solemn, purposeful gazes into the future are what Republicans do. They know their policies screw the 99 percent, so they focus on the patriotic wrapping paper. Our campaigns are supposed to be more substantive than that.

What's the core of the plan? What are the few, single major changes that he will base his Presidency on, that will significantly help the 99 percent? Just name the big ones--the major policy plans that he will go to the mat for, that will really help us reverse this slide toward corporate fascism. What are they?

This shouldn't be a hard question. We should all be asking it.
