You have to use some kind of internet picture hosting site like PhotoBucket. You can only post pictures on DU from the internet not directly from your phone or camera.

Your photos will often have data embedded in them, location at least. There are programs to remove this data (doesn't change the image) before you put it on the internet. Just google "remove metadata"
