This makes me so happy. Who would have ever believed it?
Last time I saw the member of the couple with whom I'm acquainted, we were taking silly pictures in goofy sunglasses. I can't believe you're a husband now!
A toast to a long and wonderful marriage!

"They were like, I never thought I would hear that in my lifetime," Obermiller joked. "That sentence, 'I am getting married on Monday in Alabama.' They did not think that sentence existed, but it does."
Obermiller manages a local Starbucks while Roby is an artist-in-residence at UAB. They met three and half years ago at a gym in Tennessee.
While they don't think marriage will change their feelings for each other, it could change how the world sees their relationship. Sometimes it's a small thing, like they couldn't get a family plan at the gym. But sometimes it's bigger, like wanting to visit each other at the hospital. Roby has had a lot of operations.
"Sometimes only family members can come in," said Roby. "That's crucial in a relationship that works. We have to be not only supportive of each other, but supported by our state, our country and our loved ones."

It's amazing to realize this hurdle is actually being successfully jumped, even in the South.
Great couple, and I agree on the many years!
