Hillary getting economic advice in secret, backroom meetings with former Obama advisor

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/02/17/hillary-clinton-met-with-elizabeth-warren-in-december/?_r=0

Mrs. Clinton solicited policy ideas and suggestions from Ms. Warren, according to a Democrat briefed on the meeting, who called it “cordial and productive.” Mrs. Clinton, who has been seeking advice from a range of scholars, advocates and officials, did not ask Ms. Warren to consider endorsing her likely presidential candidacy. Aides to Mrs. Clinton did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and aides to Ms. Warren could not be reached.

Clinton has reached out to the Massachusetts senator "several times" over the past six months, a source with knowledge of Clinton's plans told CNN on Tuesday, a sign of how important Warren's wing of the Democratic party is to the foundation of a would-be presidential bid for the former secretary of state.

The two met privately at the former secretary of state's Washington, D.C. home in December, according to the source, and have talked on the phone, as well. The New York Times first reported the December meeting on Tuesday.

Erica Sagrans, the Ready for Warren campaign manager, said Tuesday that the meeting is another sign Clinton "is among a growing number of Democratic leaders who admire" Warren's liberal positions.

If she really wants this Election, she has to distance herself from the Third Way Ideology and stay with the hard core Middle Class Issues. With all of the Gerrymandering that has taken place since 2010,this is the only way she can win nationally. I call it the FDR strategy. People of this Nation will follow their pocket books and there in lies the message. The last one who really did this is Kennedy. The rest just kissed the Bankers Ring.

If Warren is not going to run then she will be a great asset to hillary. Warren is terrific. She energizes voters.

The get-together represented a step toward relationship-building for two women who do not know each other well. And for Mrs. Clinton, it was a signal that she would prefer Ms. Warren’s counsel delivered in person, as a friendly insider, rather than on national television or in opinion articles. And for Ms. Warren, the meeting offered the opportunity to make clear what she believes are the most pressing national issues.

Can Hillary so much as buy a bagel without someone deciding she's have a "secret meeting" with the deli owner?

If Hillary took 4 or 5 ideas and ran on putting them into law and actually did it I'd be happy.

However I have heard every presidential candidate talk tough on trade, talk about ending the tax break for offshoring and talk about allowing bargaining for drug prices and nothing ever comes of it.
