What keeps our western young men busy and out of trouble?

Why video games, cell phones and computers may have helped lower the crime rate. The young in America aspire to have better video games, cell phones and computers, or at least not lose them by going to jail.We could make cheap digital products and send them to the middle east. Cause nothing is trouble like young men who are poor and cannot drink, smoke, date or marry (if they have no money), or get an education - let alone learn to think critically. Add to this the grievances and the lack of an economy in the middle east and people have their aspirations snuffed out. Maybe we could collect used cell phones, video games and computers for export. Cause we upgrade and just throw that stuff out. And technology has gotten to a point where all devices can do the Internet and render a website. Creating a market for computers and digital things would create jobs and skills and hope. It would be hard for people to be exploited for bribes when they are in a digital world. You can self educate using the Internet. Lots of advantages if the rich in the middle east are convinced to put WiFi everywhere. Their economies desperately need diversification.

ISIS makes better YouTube videos than our Department of State.

to get online or buy a computer much less a video game. I know the tiny middle class in the ME has just as great access as anyone in the west. The poor get ISIS videos being played for the public in the streets and elsewhere young men meet. If the youth had access on their own devices they could better choose how to spend their young lives. The vast majority would choose knowledge and fun. And develop skills along the way. Basically ISIS and the terror mongers have a captive audience who are promised greatness if they sign up, as any real cult will do. It is such a waste these horrible terror wars. If the west devoted just as much money to getting access for many of the poor in the ME to the digital world as they do to fighting wars with terrorists, that would be half the battle. The Web is a corrupt free zone and that would help too with instilling values of equity and efficiency in the economy these young men and women then live in.
