Saudi people 'shaking hands' with the royal family

This may qualify as one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. People walking through a line, walk up to a cardboard cut-out of members of the Saudi Royal Family and 'shake the hand of someone behind the cut out

They are pledging allegiance to the King and the two primary heirs
So many people (males) pledge that the king uses cut outs
